Something about Minori

Lemon growing, already practiced in the 10th Century, and the production of hand-made pasta were the most rewarding activities in the past. The commerce of lemons is still a flourishing activity: thanks to their top quality, Amalfi lemons are partly exported and partly processed to produce the famous “Limoncello della Costiera Amalfitana”, a well-known strong alcoholic lemon drink which is usually offered after a meal.

The hand-made pasta industry, which was flourishing up to a few decades ago, has practically disappeared and the  traditional different types of pasta, such as  ricci minoresi, scialatielli and ndunderi are nowadays made only on special  occasions  by the hands of Minori’s housewifes who cook them according to the old recipes, so keeping the tradition alive.

A relaxing holiday in an area which fascinates all its visitors when they admire it,  while driving and walking or sailing along the coast.

Boat excursions can be specially organized for you, on demand, to Amalfi, Positano, Li Galli island or Nerano, and you can have a gorgeous lunch in a sea-side restaurant, or you can choose to go to Capri, Ischia and Procida, or to the enchanting beaches of Santa Croce, Duoglio, or to the famous  Furore’s fjord, where film-maker Rossellini shot a few scenes of his film “Amore”, featuring Anna Magnani, and where he spent his first wedding night with Ingrid Bergman.

A full day  guided excursion, consisting in a  boat ride from Amalfi to Capri, a minibus tour of the island and a visit to the charming Axel Munte’s Villa San Michele. Optional lunch. Then visit to Augusto’s Gardens with panoramic view over the world famous Faraglioni. Time for shopping. Optional visit to the Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotta).

It is also possible to organize a visit to Paestum, including:

• Visit to the ancient Greek Temples dating back to the VIth Century b.C. and to  Paestum’s Archeological Museum;
• Free time for lunch (optional);
• On the way back, visit to Vietri, Italy’s most important town for the production of ceramics and pottery ;
